Greeting from the Centennial Mid-Western Regional Director

Dear Sorors,

Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated has reached her one hundredth birthday--a Milestone that symbolizes her significant role in our nation's history. Our beautiful sisterhood's journey from her beginning in 1908 to the present represents an Evolution of Service and Progress. The Mid-Western Region has helped pave the road we've traveled, marking the distance with pearls of wisdom and fortitude like Soror Beulah E. Burke, a founder and charter member of the first undergraduate and graduate chapter in the region, to Soror Barbara A. McKinzie, the 27th and Centennial Supreme Basileus.

I am both proud and humble to have the opportunity to serve as your Centennial and 27th Mid-Western Regional Director. During this centennial season, it is particularly appropriate to reflect on Alpha Kappa Alpha's herstory, so that we can envision her bright future of continued "service to all mankind." For we cannot know where we are going if we do not understand where we have been.

I enthusiastically support the leadership of our Centennial Supreme Basileus. I solicit the support of each and every soror of the "Motivated Mid-Western Region", as we collectively labor to implement Soror Barbara's international Extraordinary Service Program: Economics, Sisterhood and Partnership throughout every hamlet, village, neighborhood, town, city, community, state, and nation in the world.

I look forward to getting to know every soror in the Mid-Western Region. Your suggestions are welcome, your diverse talents are needed, your contributions as graduate and undergraduate sorors are valued, and your continued energy to improve our chapters and therefore our ability to "service all mankind" is solicited.
